    Default Pontoon Boat Project

My wife an i bought this pontoon in the early 90s. At the time it was a top of the line luxury pontoon but over many years of kids an abuse it had started looking ruff. We hadnt used it in several years but i had planned on making a fishing pontoon out of it anyways. I actually wanted a 20 footer with big toons but since the pandemic pontoons are thru the roof. so i decided i would redo this one an make a fishing boat out of it. I started this project back in may of 2020 bad time to do something like this cause it took forever to get parts but that was ok cause i just worked on it as money an time would allow. Iv redone several pontoons over the years an actually knew what kind of deal i was getting into. My plans for this one was to use it for trolling in the summer when it is hot an to night fish off of. I actually spent more time trying to figure out how to lay it out probably than hours working on it an as i suspected not much worked out as i planned. We got it on the water back in late may of this year an have used it this summer. Iv already redone some things an still got lots more to do. I wanted to use it to see how everything worked before i got to far along with it. Getting a balance on a pontoon when adding batteries an trolling motor an all your other stuff can be tricky. I have to much weight in the front of this one now if i have several people on it so i will be moving trolling motor batterys to the back this winter. Ill add pictures an tell what i done so if someone decides to do a pontoon maybe i can help you not make some of the mistakes i made

I look forward to seeing more of this thread. I am looking at pontoons now. Outrageously expensive. If it is even close to a good deal it is gone in a hurry
The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along
