But do to her recent success rates with her Barbie pole combo ,when she wasn't looking I snuck out with it !
I forgot how much fun that little rascal is to hammer the fish with . Really good back bone and sensitive and to be honest with you , 36 fish in an hour ain't terribly bad either !
The real reason it came into play was just because I sometimes feel the need to challenge myself in my quests for crappie fish . A short rod on a dock is pretty easy to work with as well .
The lunch break went well and at one point I am REALLY sad to say a fish hit the dock I REALLY REALLY wanted to hold up for a few photos !
Sure wish I had video of that particular schooling , the combo slung her up green on the dock as soon as I saw her ,while I tried in vain to put my eyes back in their sockets !
She of course wasn't near done and the mma thing began , She got me pretty darn wet and slipped thru my hands and was gone even faster than she hit the dock !
Pretty sure after touching her and having her right in my face she was in the 2.5 and up range , quite the toad fish for sure in these parts and possibly the biggest crappie I have hooked up with this year .
Of course without proof I realize it is just another fish story , but none the less WOW !
I actually said a few choice short 4 letter words as I got up off my hands and knees .....
KABOOM is the word yawl for sure ....
particulars time , swimming the bait across condos about 4 foot deep in 8 feet of water .
had to be swimming to get bit , all sorts of fish in the mix from tiny to large and 5 species visited my hands .
Used an Arkie solid body until I lost it and went with a limits tackle after that . high noon in the shade with a cool north wind blowing in a light frontal system .
most of the fish hit it like they meant it ....the fall run has begun
