I will cast a third vote for the Diawa. I have a couple of the Zebco's and they are O.K. and I have never tried the Pflueger. My Diawas always just seem to work.

Both of my Diawas are gold. They are the small ones that came with 4lb ( I think ) line.

Found me a gold one. 25$ shipped. Think I'm going through a mid mid life crisis. Seems like all I wanna do is buy poodle tail rods and trigger spin reels.

I know some guys that’s shot docks for years even before it got popular and they use the Zebco omega push button reels said tuff as nails I think you can get them for about 60 bucks . But as said already I used to have the same issue as you with the line . But several year ago now I bought a line spooler that suction cups to the table and it is sprig loaded for tension and I no longer have that issue!

Over the years these never seem to have caught on. Sure look easy to use.
