What size wire, stranded or gauge? Should I wire to trolling motor batteries or add independent battery, what size?

16 or 18 ga should be plenty for LEDS. If you have an amperage for the light you are going to use I will look up the wire size for you. They don't draw very much. It would take a long time to run down a trolling battery with an LED light.

How long will batteries last, with 3.2 amp draw. Could I connect on 24 volts (trolling motor batteries). Would 24 volt connection be better than 12 volt.

3.2 amp hours. Depends on the amp hour capacity of the battery. A long time.
