    Sometimes I think I got it backwards , just saying
    There is good news though , the small ones pull really well this way ..........

    Yeah, a while back he was having trouble hooking them in the mouth too. Jigs were all the way down their throats. Ketchn, as many crappie you stick steel to your hookset speed should increase, shouldn't it?

    I think when he sets the hook, he's tryin to get half the kleening done right then...lol...

    So if a crappie is foul hooked in a tournament does it still count? I fish for the challenge & table fair.

    In most instances, no .... it would not count & would have to be released at once. Rules usually dictate that the fish has to be "hooked" IN the mouth, so as to eliminate any chance of the angler "snagging" the fish (on purpose).
