Default Beat down on the dock ?

Seems most all the docks get a beat down I frequent at some point , if it isn't one it is the other .
Lately it became obvious a small dock I like is getting the treatment .
jigs laying everywhere and all the boats now have rods with crappie jigs on them as well ,where there wasn't a single one when I first started hitting that dock !
So that and the nibbles laying all over the place possibly explains the last 2 visits and the lack of a decent bite either time .
Now mind you it isn't a really big deal ,but it does let the wind out of my sail some when I walk up and all the catfish rods have crappie jigs on them ....
Only managed 9 crappie last visit in 45 minutes and the visit before a dozen in the same time frame .
Very few of legal size and it is likely the larger ones are getting ate . Now mind you some of it might just be the heat and summer syndrome to a degree or 3 .
last visit it took a real light jig with a real slow drop to get bit and the line watching like a hawk with a fast hand to hook a fish .
they would only hit it on the fall and not hold onto it long , such is my story ....
looking like I need to explore some other options soon....

It does happen. I catch so few fish nobody follows me around looking for good spots.
They see me fishing a spot and laugh as they drive by

the ones watching me often return to the scene of the crime , just saying
had a fella watch me from his car one time , I was slinging some big slabs all alone .
knew he was watching but it is a public dock and paid him no attention .
eventually he came down after he saw me sling a bunch ...
and asked me ever so sly like ,in a didn't have a clue manner if I was ketchn anything

Areas do get hit hard when people find out you are catching fish

I don't really keep it on the extra down low unless it is requested , if they want them , have at them , there are zillions of them everywhere

I've been on spots before and the bite be every drop almost. Had people come by and I purposely didn't drop to correct depth or intentionally not do right just so they don't see me hook into something....lol. Like you said they see it then your spot will be crowded in a short time.

That’s always the way - people too lazy to put in the work. Time to move on for awhile. As you say, a public dock is just that….

I believe it is worse when one is stuck with bank fishing only. A fella has more limited spots to catch from.

But not in Ketchn's place. Knows way more places than anyone. Is EZ okay? Haven't seen him post lately.
