    Default Wife built jigs

With some of that Pieguy build a jig materials , her personal jig was yellow with purple feathers .
the one she built for me was pink with chart feathers.
we wet said jigs and KABOOM was the word !
the crappie ate both colors pretty well and then ......
Her jig got destroyed by some really large something in the water !
I thought she was hung up on the bottom and so did she .....until ....
it began to drag her down the walkway of the dock .....
when it pulled off it just ripped the jig to pieces ...........
she said maybe it was one of those alligator looking fish with all the teeth ...
I said no sweety ,there ain't none of them in this lake .
We both lost big fish that pulled off our jigs Sunday afternoon .
Mine pulled off after a huge fight on 4 lb test mono
Hers pulled off after a hard run on 6 lb test mono
We did get to see mine as mini KABOOM went for the long handle net .
It was a large channel cat or possibly a blue .
used several different jigs and enjoyed the nice breeze and the shade midday
Kept the 50 required by the owner and had a wonderful time in the shade and breeze out on the water in the heat of the day on said dock .
1 pm to 3 pm and then filleted a dozen for the owner of the lake and took off with the rest for donation to the less fortunate.
all crappie over about 11 inches went back ....selective harvest time
we used ultralites and YES the 8.99 barbie pole was hanging in there with the 12.99 zebco mini 22 combo, right beside the 175 dollar set up i used .....
on a side note : I dont think i have ever seen fish bite any lighter in my crappie travels , a whisper on in the ear kinda softness type thing .....AND quicker to spit a jig than you can imagine as well !
