Yep, momma said there would be days like that. At least you should have the bad mojo out of the boat. Good luck and good next time!
Yes, as a matter of fact, I do have a retirement plan...FISHING!

A couple weeks ago I zigged instead of zagged and hit my own trailer with my own outboard. Don't ask.....I don't know how it happened either...tight spot is all I can say.

Years ago I get to the boat ramp and found I left the boat keys at home. Drove the hour back home to get them. Go to put the boat in the water and entire plastic drain plug assembly crumbles in my hand. Drive 45 minutes to Bass Pro to but another one. From start to finish it took me 5hrs to wet a line.

Boat related but not fishing. I took a friend in my 14 foot Polar Craft with 25hp Johnson to a spot on KY Lake where he had been shooting some diver ducks. We were running late, no thanks to me.
I beached the boat, threw the anchor way up on the bank, and we hustled to the blind site. All morning he yapped about how mad his wife would be if he wasn’t home by a certain time. Of course, we hunt until we knew we would have to make a screaming trip home.
I walk to the boat and it was sitting there, bow on the bank but everything from middle to transom was sunk!! A barge had come by during the hunt and swamped it!! I tried every way possible to get it floating. I finally got it turned sideways along the bank, got most of the water out, got it started and headed to the blind. Boat won’t plane off!!
I reached over the transom, pulled the plug, and proceeded to run in circles in the bay while the last of the water slowly drained out. The whole time I see my buddy jumping up and down, pointing at his watch. I ran the boat onto the bank at his feet, got the plug in and then proceeded to start to listen to him wail away that I’m making him late to get home. My trying to explain what happened didn’t matter. His wailing was quickly cut off and replaced with my question…Do you want to WALK Home??
I don’t think we ever hunted the lake together again.

I had worked all Friday and then fished all night, I had 12 nice flounder and a good redfish. I vleaned the flounder first. When I got to the redgish being tired and half asleep I went to flip the scales off it with the fillet knife. About the third flip off the knife I shoved it to the handle through my left forearm. That sure woke me up

Well on a high note yesterdays trip went smooth , Motor running as advertised , live well working Fine ( or as fine as live wells run on Ranger RT boats ) and fish bit much better then last trip ! I spent 20 years shooting bow fishing tournaments all over the country out of everything from jet boats to air boats ! Have had some long nights stuck or broke down and more then two sad stories about equipment breakdowns or dimwitted moves that left me stranded high and dry ... after retiring to a less equipment heavy sport haven't had a day like the other day in some time ! Back to relaxing and waiting for the Thump !

years ago I was launching my sailboat (I fished off of it) and it moved from the dock, I straddled it and dumb me realize you cannot pull in a 8,000 pound boat, so I fell in the water. I had my new inflatable PFD which activated. Several people on the dock ran to help me, I told them I was fine, I was just testing my new PFD. Luckily I had my ladder out on the stern and was able to get back in, wet and feeling silly. There is a reason I kept the ladder out at all times, maybe it was not the first time I fell out. Rule 1, dont fall out of a sailboat, rule 2 dont fall out. No one can climb on a big sailboat from the sides, aint happening
Feel better, shared my idiot stuff.
