    Default SKUNKED in Arkansas !

Yes sir , you heard it here , SKUNKED in Arkansas ! ! ! !
I think I found a spot with a few available bank crappie in Arkansas, but didn't really have much time to get stupid serious and ketch some.
I started to ketch some fish around 15 to 20 foot deep off a really deep rock ledge .
Kept moving just a bit deeper with my jig and eventually managed to ketch smallmouth bass.
At around 15 or so were long ear sunfish , about 20 or so were green sunfish , past 20 a bit a few bluegill ,and when I went a bit deeper there were smallmouth .
I found it rather surprising there were about zero fish in water less than 15 to 20 foot deep ,but such is warm clear waters.
It is highly likely they were there ,but off the bank and with no electronics I was just feeling my way around that there gin clear really warm water .
None of my 2 or 3 water stops lasted long , we did visit a trout area and of course they were pretty easy to ketch with a herd of them at your feet in some spots .
That water was NOT warm btw and it was not long in it before you wasn't in it ....
In the end it didn't bother me much to not find an Arkansas crappie though and to be sure it was a splendid vacation
The wildlife was cooperative and abundant, the house we stayed in was inexpensive and just totally nice , the scenery made you want to stay and we will probably go visit there again on another vacation .
I tried to go in looking all touristy and clueless in an attempt to surprise them there Arkansas crappie ,but in the end they wasn't duped none , wore my ballcap sideways and everything , the good news is butterflies loved that ball cap for some reason ,along with several other critters in the area , muskrats , deer , skinks ,chipmunks , toads , grey squirrels , and the list goes on ....
the "painted" walking stick was really cool looking and in the end I ran out of storage to post more photos of said event .....
that is my story and back to ketchn some crappie here in Texas soon is my hopes .
no KABOOM ballcaps just dont seem to get it done

Glad you found some fish. As soon as I recover from this knee replacement I’ll be right back out there.

Don't sound like any skunking I have ever heard about. That skunk have set up permanent residency in my boat complete with a little mailbox.

I see the problem, its in the head covering.

Normally when they see Kaboom coming, they just naturally giveup and crawl out...

But with the camo, they didn't know the danger they were in...

So the crappie fish just naturally ran fer cover...

Now if they coulda spoke longear, the woulda known better, and come on in....

But thats how it is in Arkansas, don't cha know...

Some nice looking fish and the background looked pretty. Good to escape the blazing Texas heat for a break.

If you would have stayed a little longer, you would have found them.

I like the blue/green water hole. Looks to be good for swimming.
Maybe they will bite this one……

I heard tell that lake has the "cleanest" water in the lower 48 , not sure if that is the truth ,but to be sure that area is a "swimming" hole .
that morning the bank and rock ledge were bare of human existence , the next day i went back and there were some clothing articles laying right on the rocks where it looks like a rock beach ,beside that ledge , so it appeared it was suitable for swimming and swim suits are optional there as well .....
