Default Pontoon owners....question on length of trolling motor

We have a G3 pontoon and for the first time we are going to put a Lowrance ghost trolling motor on it. Not for sure what length to get. 60" is a long one to store and I think 47 is to short. What length of shaft are you using on your pontoon? Would hate to order the wrong length (dealing with return and stuff).

The only other choice would be 52"....what size do you people use on your pontoons?

    thanks

I have a 60" on mine - I did this to ensure motor is always in water, even when the wake boats try to drown you. If you go to 52, you my have issues in rough water.

That is a good point. Can't forget the wake boats.

52 should work but I like 60... Why doesn't someone design one that could go up/down electronically, maybe with a switch or contol!

I don't believe the newer Terrovas can be cut off with the lift assist. Just food for thought.

I have the 54 on my Pro Team Tracker. The 45 was out of stock when I ordered. You only have to put as deep in the water as it needs to go. The plus side it sticks up higher above the deck. I have to lift it less to get it to the balance point and lay it over. It does make it easier.

52 on my lowes and it can go up or down depending on what I need but usually just keep it in one place and does just fine. not a hindrance as far as when it is on deck which it mostly is. would look at what most others have on waters you fish to find out what would be best. so when you see someone out with one talk to them and get their opinion.

Size: 67.4 KB. I took a couple pics of mine yesterday. Mine takes up a
Lot of floor space when stowed that is the biggest reason I’m gonna cut it down. I put mine on a quick release bracket if we are night fishing or just water playing I take it off to get it out of the way
