. When I was a kid, I saw a feral cat grab a bream that someone caught with the hook still in it!
You haven't lived 'til you try and get a hook out of a cat's mouth!!

I don't imagine the cat was very thrilled about the experience either

I would call the emergency room and make sure they had my blood type available and plenty of thread. A fella is gonna end up needing some stitches

I would have started with sedating the cat….

them cats are well fed for sure , and there is one racoon that sometimes shows up with them ,they also get some of the trimmings off the crappie too
I'm not a cat expert but a (herd) of cats just doesn't sound right

Wrap the cat up in a towel, then he can’t work his climbing gear. I know this because my girlfriend’s stupid cat saw the Sabiki rig on my rod and thought the little baits looked like toys. It had a hook in each of it’s paws and several in it’s mouth. I had to endure several lectures. The doctor, the nurses and my girl all took turns.
Maybe they will bite this one……

we used to have a really cool feral cat that lived on a crappie dock back when , half a tail and really super friendly ,big as a house and begged for fish all the time .
that cat seemed timeless ,for years it hung around and every winter when i visited there it was .
some fool from the city brought a big mean dog out there about 2 years ago and it killed said cat .
bought made all us old crappie fellas cry i tell ya

That is a shame. That cat had made it's home at that dock.
