Default Tough bite but nice fish

These crappie were hanging 24' down in 75' of water. These were all bait fish, no lures used. A meal worm threaded on a 1/64 jig head with a 3/0 split shot a foot above was the best. Dropping it down below the fish and coming up super slow through them brought an almost imperceptible bite that sometimes turned into a fish. So much fun and a great break from all the catfishing I've been doing.

I retired this year after 19 years guiding on this steep, deep reservoir. From July through November this technique is the best way to put a catch together. Pretty soon bluegill and yellow perch will be in the same school and I'll go to a double rig.
