If ya relocate that bass to a frying pan the condo will be vacated for others, just sayin.....
Hit a boat dock at lunch time yesterday , pretty much so so , I think a big bass in my condo might be why the fish never seem to be in that condo .
She grabbed the jig and tried to take the rod out of my hand . Went to the air tricks quickly , slammed herself off a gunwale of a boat in the air at one point , after the first hard run and reel screaming , we battled for a good bit .
Kept my 5.5 rod bent down hard and about half or more of the time I kept 2/3 of the rod under the water . She was my first fish of the day and the fish gods seemed to like me the rest of the day.
I managed a poor number at the dock of only 14 in an hour and had to work hard for them . They seemed to like a really pretty much ugly hand tie in a 4 color combo .
Hit the lake an hour away after work and had only 1 solid good crappie rod and my short stuff 5.5 with me .
They seemed to also have a thing for the same ugly hand tie out there ?
Beat all the other colors I tried by a mile and is still on the little 5.5 rod as I type .
Tons of just 10 inch fish in the mix and only 16 good keepers made it to the live well . Lost quite a few nice fish at the boat because the little spaghetti rod has zero back bone and won't flip a fish out of the water well .
Here comes the days downer , laid my 8 foot rod down on the gunwale and fished with my 5.5 hand tie as it was just hurting them . Out of the corner of my eye I saw a whack on the 8 footer as something laid down on that jig dangling over the side .
Unbeknownst to me as I was concentrating on the super light bites my 8 ft Rod had slid up under a cleat .......
and when I grabbed it up in hook set fashion .......
SNAPPED her right in half just above the 2 pc. joint !
Made me a bit sad to say the least but I kept the tears back and kept ketchn .
Managed to ketch a bit over hundred total on crappie by days end in the 2 combined trips and also managed one more bass on lake 2 that liked the air as well but was much smaller .
and that was my 3 hour total ketchn on the 2 different lakes
sometimes it is what it is you know ,and in the end
KABOOM is still the word

Sounds like pretty good day considering. That's a mighty fine bass and I'd be tickled to catch anytime. Sorry about that 8' rod. I've been using mine lately, just bought the 8' ACC rod to try. I personally like the Thump City rod better. Might try the Pro Angler 8' rod or Southern Pro 8' rod as well one day. Sort of starting to pile up rods now probably should stop...... nah....lol
I never keep fish from that lake , but then again I rarely keep any fish from any of the lakes .
I walked her down to another slip for her release , hope she stays away from the condo .
I wondered why there were never any fish in it , not even any bream.
Seen that same thing on the other side of the lake last year on another one of my condos .
No fish there either UNTIL a big ole fish like her bit my jig one visit .

Yes indeed, that is a mighty fine bass. I’ll take one of those any day, that’s for sure! Sorry to hear about the rod, but that aside a good day.

The breaking of a favored fishing rod certainly thunders in ones ears.
