    I got myself a nice , new to me, reel today. An older Mitchell Garcia 308 ultra light reel.Name:  20210712_162218.jpg

    Thank you Jack. Growing up My late father had two reels. Both Mitchell Garcia's. A 300, and a 408. I found a 300 a year or so ago, but need to get it to a repair shop for a going through and the anti-reverse fixed. This one needs a thorough cleaning as the gear grease is hard and away from the gears. I'm going to start collecting them one at a time if I have to. They are some very good reels if taken care of...

    I have an old 304 I picked up a few years ago. They are well made reels

    man them bring back memories , the poor fish never knew what was coming when I showed up as kid with one in my hand , just about every freshwater fish species and a bunch of saltwater fish too , met their makers .
    man they were tough smooth reels , drags sang nicely and the balance and durability was unsurpassed back in the day .

    Yes sir, the 308 was cranked with the left hand, 309 cranked with the right hand...
