Default Question: Catching More On Port Side Vertically Fishing...WHY????

My wife and I fished brush piles all weekend using HB 2D sonar (no livescope) and we noticed that the port side caught way more fish than the starboard side. I talked to a crappie guide and he told me that he had the same experience back in the day when he fished with 2d sonar. We are both stumped on why this could occur. We enabled spotlock as we vertically fished. Any ideas?

Could it be that the port side was possibly shaded?

I don't think so b/c it occurs both all times of the day/evening. We thought maybe the built in transducer on the TM has the 2d sonar on the left side and the DI on the right side. But that is just a wild guess.

Possibly the transducer is on that side meaning that those baits would be closer to the brushpile

I have no clue but it tends make me think an inch left or right on the bottom of the transducer wouldn't cause this, a cone is a cone for the most part ,some are wider than others and depths play into it as well .
but it is for sure strange how some views on the depth imaging units are not directly underneath where they originate .
angle of the dangle is likely what's up in my opinion

Ketchn: I think you got it. I have a Ranger 1850MS. It is 5% offset from the bow when I calibrated spot lock. The 5% is on the right side of the boat. So to keep the boat pointed at the correct heading position, then the TM and Transducer must angle 5% back to the left (port side). I believe this is the answer.

To be clear, I got crushed. 16 fish for wife , 4 for me. She is still giving me the business and now she wants better fishing outfits!
