    The shortage is due to covid restricting how much can be unloaded in ports per day.(yes from china) About 95% less than pre covid. I have used those cherry woods and they are a good deal. Like you, K, I don't care for 2 piece rods if I can find a 1 piece instead. The few 2 piece I own I glued together.

    have a 6 foot one piece that I really have been ketchn the crappie and other NTS for many years and left it at a buddies cabin and HE raved about using it till I wrestled it back from him. handles very well for sure.

    seen a few in the 6 ft . range at the docks in these parts myself , never tried one though , one thing for certain the 7 footers are storm trooper rods no doubt about it
