Default Fishing as we know it will have to change

With the push to move from internal combustion engines to cleaner options fishing will forever be changed. It storage batteries become the fuel tanks of future boats. The 60 plus mph boats and wake boats just to name a few will be a thing of the past.

I think marine will be one of the last sectors to switch, but it'll be very interesting to see. Battery tech needs to come a long way before we see anything feasible. Right now gasoline has 5 times more energy per pound than the best lithium battery, even when efficiency is considered.

The ocean is somewhere that you definitely don't want to be stranded with dead batteries.

That will take a lot of generations of battery technology to get to that point.

I think wake boats ought to be outlawed. I do not mind regular ski boats or jet skis as nearly bad as them.

I don't know, Jack .... we're already seeing EV's capable of 0-60mph in <3sec's (Tesla) ... but then again, their battery weighs 1200lbs. And there are already "Electric Boat Motors" on the market, right now, one equal to a 150hp gas motor.

But, I take your point. And I don't think I'll be around to see the changeover, IF it ever occurs.

They have some amazing technology to shape a wave anyway that the rider wants it. It takes a lot of power to push those boats with the ballast tanks filled and the wave former pulling the back of the boat down. I believe there are a lot of inconsiderate people or people that just don't know any better running those boats.
