Father’s Day Gifts.

I’ve given this a lot of thought over the past couple of weeks and I want to try and share some of them with Y’all.
We get cards with good wishes, and a box to open with something very nice inside. Dinner is usually exemplary and the company when family and friends gather is second to none. I’ve been asked what I wanted for father day for a few weeks now and I’ve become rather relaxed at saying “not a thing”. I have most everything a man needs and most of what I could ask for has a personal touch and I would have to be there to get the one I have in mind. But that list is very short.

In my thoughts I think of what some fathers didn’t get. I have been given two wonderful girls that know and love me despite some of my twisted ways. I have 4 granddaughters that also give me much love and great pleasure just to be around them. I have a wife of 41 years that while she won’t join me in my boat, she never tells me not to go, even when she has things planned. I’ve also been given two great sons in law that fill the bill in a fathers desires for their children. Responsible, loving and hard working, and they tolerate me pretty good too. My parents would be proud to know them were they still here.

All this and more has filled my head recently and I had to share. Gifts, I’d have to say that I’m good and blessed beyond my hopes. I thank God on a regular basis for keeping his hand on my life and that of my family. I can only hope that you all share in these gifts I’ve been given and wish all the dads a Happy Fathers Day with many more to follow.

You know I got me an engraved 32 ounce "lifetime" that keeps water cold 24 hours bottle and a priceless hand made card from one daughter .
I got me a photo of my 2.5 year old grandson trying to ketch fish with his hands in the Colorado river yesterday from my older daughter with a happy fathers day from her .
So much like you , even though I said I really didn't want anything I still got things everyday of the year that are VERY special gifts
p.s. I did mention a little boat I want, now that I think about it ......
