Interesting thread. In Wyoming we only have crappie populations in a few lakes and the limit is 50 per day or in possession.

On one of those lakes this spring if you could not catch 50 to a 100 crappie per day you were not trying. In the boat(s) I fish from we impose a 10 inch minimum size limit for the fish to be kept. Even with this type of success, not a lot of anglers target crappie. Most would rather pull bottom bouncers for walleye than try to catch crappie.

I hear talk among our fish management folks of lower bag limits, but most anglers don't want to see that change.

This year, a good day for bass is, say, 15. Usually lots of casts to get those 15! For bream, 25 (and stop fishing because that's enough bream action, go try something else). For crappie, I'm not there yet, have not had a good day but I only started trying in May. The lake is new to me. I did luck up and catch 3 crappie one day and they were good ones. Have caught a couple small ones here and there a couple times. Just haven't figured them out yet. This week, they have started biting pretty good according to those who are fishing for them. So, I will keep trying!

I consider 10 keepers a pretty good morning of fishing. Most lakes in TN have a limit of 15 per day with the minimum length at 10 inches. I usually only fish mornings due to the water lice that start coming out by 10AM on Saturdays. Got about 5 more years to retirement and am looking forward to fishing during the week when that time arrives.

When I step outside in the morning and my neighbor asks if I am still alive. This is a good day.
