    Most of my fillet knives are Dexter Russells that pull double duty on saltwater fish throughout the year. They make a thin flexible 7” blade that works well for panfish. The blade on the 6” SoftGrip is a little thick for my tastes on crappie-sized fish. For cutting out rib meat the short Rapala knife is hard to beat.

    I’ve had a rapala for 10+ years, filleted countless fish and cut up several deer and still going strong

    The wood handle Rapalas are pretty good
