Was on vacation one time and we weren't fishing, but saw a guy walk out on a public fishing dock with brand new still had the price tag on gear from Walmart and tried to cast his new spinning reel without knowing you had to flip the bail open first. He was extremely frustrated and swore it was defective. I decided to be nice and help before he broke the thing.

Seen this one many times! Funny thing is it was always older guys that did this! Did see a couple guys come flying into the launch last year, hurried up and launched ahead of me and my buddy that was waiting for daylight, and we looked over and their boat is drifting across the canal! They never tied the rope off to the boat! My buddy says "Well I guess we better go rescue their boat for them". Funny part is the 2 guys we rescued the boat for was a friend of a friend of ours!

Picking up a tackle box with an unlatched lid, not pulling your fish basket or stringer of fish into the boat before it surprises you by flying in the boat, when getting on plane, minus all or most of your catch. The list of fisherman that can personally relate to these is still growing. lol

Running in the shallow water outside of the channel markers. Boat was bucking like a bronco. Mud going everywhere.

Years ago, a new member here invented a product for crappie fishing. To prove how good it was, he went out and caught a triple limit and then posted that breaking the law was worth it to promote the product.

He was flamed and never posted again. LOL

What is this? Do you mean, it will let water out but won't let it in? Or in your case, some got in but not much? I am not familiar with this plug.

I didn't see it first hand. But it was friends of mine. And for sure it happened. Fella's in the boat and his wife's backing him in the water. His truck at the time was a Chevy S10 manual transmission. She's backs in to float the boat and boat won't release. He signals for her to back in a little more.... boat still won't float off. The straps are still hooked and by this time the boat has floated the back wheels of the truck off the ground and current is pulling the truck in. They almost sank the boat with the truck before he could get the straps cut. When the State Trooper showed up he thought it was a joke when they said the truck and trailer was under water because it's so deep.
