This is what I would use.

After you cut to size and paste, put a small bead of lexel caulk on top of (top edge) screen surface (black part). Have just enough that it stays on top edge and does not drip down. Wait 5 days for lexel to harden and you are good to go.

Im surprised you got through to Garmin. I called them a few months ago and waited over an hour on hold before I hung up. I had an older (2015?) unit fall out of the thing that holds it on the console, and now it rattles. I hope it works.

Sorry to hear this. I’ve heard of people getting them repaired but not through Garmin. All my electronics are insured with my boat. If I break mine I’ll be filing a claim.
