My Yeti latches remind me of my Jeep hood latches back in the 70’s.

I also have a Lifetime cooler and have been very pleased with it and like the latches on it better than any other cooler I’ve seen.

The reason I just HAD to have one of these coolers was the latches, alone. I was sold just by that! I see that several (all?) manufacturers of these types of coolers are now using this type latch. Reason I chose the Lifetime is because it is taller but not as wide as opposed to Academy's wider but not as tall. The Lifetime takes up less floorspace for the same number of quarts capacity.

I too have a Lifetime and have been very pleased. Yeti is/was too expensive for my usage level of the cooler.

If I'm going to ice fish I put the plug in the livewell and throw a bag of ice in there.
