My favorite is by far single pole vertical jigging. I do enjoy the thump unless it was like the other day when the fish would appear when i lifted my jig to move it. Then most of them swam away before i realized they were there.

Vertical jigging is where I get my thrills. Love that thump. Winter fishing is my favorite time to jig deep.
I like to sit in my Millennium seat with 4-8 rods out front and push double minnow rigs. Lazy man fishing.

No. 1 is watching the excitement of who ever else is in my boat that don't fish much catch crappie. Followed by Spider Rigging pushing minnow rigs or jigs.
I'm usually trolling 3 lines out the back, I think what you all refer to as "long lining". Casting to weed edges is the 2nd choice. Don't like dealing with live minnows so that's out for me.
I grew up fishing with a slip float and I still prefer that method especially since I developed my own indestructible slip bobber.

I'm a single pole jig fisherman by heart. My second method would be fishing under the lights at night with multiple minnows out. I like dock shooting but I don't due it nearly enough.
Never seemed able to hold two poles and reel too...lol. Single pole fishing is what I do mostly. Whether vertical jigging or casting just one pole for me...
Vertical jigging is my favorite. Closely followed by dock shooting, even though I'm not very good at it. I've given dock owners a lot of free jigs.
