    Default Hull Cleaner

So I spent the afternoon cleaning my boat and I have been staring at the water stains for a couple years now. Bought the boat from a guy in Florida and have never been able to scrub the brackish stains off. I had read somewhere about toilet bowl cleaner and here are the results. Put the cleaner in a spray bottle, sprayed it on and let it set for about 5 min, light brushing, and a hose off. Completely impressed for a $2.50 bottle of cleaner from Dollar General. Surely somebody can use this!Name: IMG_4949.jpg

Wow!! Much better than 50 bucks for a gallon of starbright hull cleaner.

Makes sense, it's made to clean stains off of toilets. Why not boats. Great tip

I hope you wore gloves. 9.5% HCL or hydrochloric acid. A citric acid based cleaner will do the same and is a bit safer.

Is it safe for aluminum ? Does it contain a oxidizer ?

I wouldn't want to put a stong acid on an aluminum boat. Battery acid will eat a hole in an aluminum boat. The previous owner of my boat let it eat holes in the inner floor of the battery compartment

I buy the Simply Awesome cleaner, couple bucks per 1/2 gallon at Dollar General. I bought a 32 oz pump sprayer there too. One sprayer will go completely around my 23 foot boat. Scum line disappears with light brushing and hose. If I really need to go at it, I do the same with my power washer.
