Yep. I'm headed up there weds morning for the rest of the summer. Spent the winter there also. Caught some walleye and several pike and a few yellow perch. Now that the ice is gone, I'm taking the shallowsport with me. I'll be on leech lake walker minn.

he offers me every year and he goes every year , never found the spare time to do it just yet , but to be sure he hammers fish up there , rock bass , crappie , pike , smallmouth , yellow perch and walleye .
not sure all the lakes he hits up there but there are a few he likes , the creel limits seem to vary greatly from lake to lake .

Man, ain’t that the truth! They are eating machines. For those folks the reward for brutal winters is some of the prettiest water and incredible fishing come late spring/summer. Look at those photos we get from Maine.

I have been fishing in Canada before on two different trips. Drove from south Arkansas straight up north thru Missouri, Iowa, Minnesota, & into Ontario to Lake Kishkutina. Fly In service at Nestor Falls flew our gear in and left it on an island........we canoed & portaged in. Was a lot of trouble getting there and getting all set up, but once you did..........Man, you could catch smallmouth by the hundreds daily and every now and then, a torpedo would come through the water and make a run at your smallmouth or even blow the water up hitting that smallmouth ripping it to shreds. We kept one fish per day for our dinner and released the others back to fight again. Largest muskie I got to the boat was just over 3 feet long. Slicky slimey stinky ugly mean looking toothy fish right there!

Enjoyed everything about the trips except for the mosquitos...........big as turkeys up there and a lot more plentiful! Better do your bathroom business before dark and hope, hope, hope you don't have to unzip the tent to go out in the middle of the night for anything. Enjoyed some Kokanee beer there on the island and had good times.........probably won't ever go back, but it was truly an experience.

hooked one of those monsters up at Kenora ONT and had it come right at the boat in a huge wave, thought was gonna swamp us and as it went under the boat snapped that wire leader and 50 lb test line right off! Glad I went one time and we had a week where there wern't any skeeters or flys as they just had a 8 foot flood sweep thru and took them all out. But ruined the walleye fishing as well. but still ketchn tons of smallies and pike was a blast.

I spent from July 1 till Labor Day on Lake of the Woods in Sioux Narrows, Ontario Canada every year until about age 22.
    What a Blessing it was.

Canada always eluded me , never made it there , Kodiak and the mainland Alaska i have been to several spots there several times .
no smallies there best i know of , but to be sure the other species are off the charts ,what a total blessing to visit a spot that has a fish in every drop of water
