Glad to hear she is doing good and that she got to get out and check the boat out and catch some fish.
I bought the Storm Cat late last summer. Vicki rode in it a couple of times during engine break in but hasn’t fished out of it.
We recently found out she had a 90% blockage in her right carotid artery. I sat on razor blades while she went thru all the required testing, knowing what could happen at any time. She had the surgery almost two weeks ago.
Yesterday I had a rare day off and what did we do? I took her fishing for 4 hours. Vicki is as good as they come at pulling cranks. She loves it and has years of experience.
We went to a spot on Lake Barkley that would allow us to fish productive water without a long boat ride in windy conditions.
Our first pass yielded 3 keeper crappie. She hates my 14 foot Southern Crappie Rods but did great with my guidance. The 7 foot Cherrywoods were a breeze for her.
Another pass off the end of a long point and we hit every crankbaiters nightmare- - a huge school of BIG white bass! 3 at a time on the first two passes. She was having a ball except when it came time to swing a 2+ pounder over the side on the SCR143T. I had to take care of that.
The nice crappie were mixed in with the white bass and it was near constant action for the whole time we were there. I felt that 4 hours was plenty for her even on a cloudy day. The meds she’s on aren’t a good fit with a hot, sunny day yet.
Her first trip on the Storm Cat was one to remember. I took her to a steak house on our way home and she was all smiles and couldn’t stop talking about it. After what she’s been thru, that was the best medicine for both of us.
