I feel that judgement is to be made by my peers. Just cuz you get paid just means you know how to work the business, referring to tourney fishermen. Now someone is going to get offended by that and I mean no animosity. M R Dux I consider to be a professional for many reasons, and I don’t think I have to explain. The way he handles things are proof positive.

If you get paid by fishing for crappie then you are a Pro. Being a Pro does not mean you are a better fisherman, it just means you have convinced somebody to support you. I think the IRS point makes that point.

I believe it would take something I enjoy doing and turn ot into a job. And just as with any job your employer expects results. That in itself would take most of the fun out of it. The fact that some have felt the need to cheat to win proves how much pressure someone would be under to get results consistently

The word pro can mean professional or promotional. If you want to call yourself a pro by all means do so but I would call someone a professional who at the least has to report income from fishing to the IRS.

Promotional folks simply get free stuff and promise to promote the brand, a lot of promotional fisherman can be found on the internet.

It's all about sales and marketing, I think.
what if the deal was , "someone" will support and promote your free stuff ONLY if it works well ?
and what if you were told straight up there was a ZERO loyalty factor clause and they could switch brands at any time ?
it could happen like that you know .....
