    Default Professional or Novice?

Hey Guys and Gals. Question: What makes an angler the Best Crappie Fisherman? Or better yet, at what stage can you consider yourself a Professional Crappie Fisherman?

    IMO
catching 30 solid crappie in 4 hours or less is equal to shooting par 72 on 18 holes of golf or equal to bowling a 200 game 2 out 3 games or running a rack of 8 ball from the break consistently. But even by my definition I don't believe that makes one a professional...A master of their sport is more like it.

I have been given goods but not paid . In the circle of professionals I am not well liked by most . A professional as stated is someone getting paid to ketch crappie .
What makes one better than average or possibly a notch above that has NOTHING to do with if they get paid to do it . There are some that look down on a guy that ketches them from the bank on a regular basis .
We had this discussion just yesterday as my name was brought up in front of a "professional" , he didn't say anything at first in response to do you know Ketchn ? Even went so far as to say I don't know anyone from Ft. Worth .
The person then showed him a photo of mine and he said simply ...."oh yeah, I do know him ,he is that guy that fishes off the BANK " !
It is my opinion that after riding with a few that are professionals and ketchn fish with them that as is everything else out there , some are way better at it than others .
I know people in my industry that get high amounts of pay in our profession that are terribly poor at it and yet in the definition of the word pro ,they are pros .....
so novice angler or recreational angler or even pro angler means about diddly when someone is given that title as far as I am concerned .....just saying

You know, Ketch, some of that resentment you feel out there could be a case of “green eyes”. Here is a guy known to use bargain basement and flea market stuff that has proven time and again you don’t need to spend a fortune to be successful and have fun. I have a little of both on the $ end, and get ALMOST as much fun with my TSS as my more expensive stuff. Enough fun that I could easily live without the rest if I had to. I feel use and enjoy what you have. The difference you bring is experience and skill. Just my .

Nothing wrong with fishing from the bank. Some of my fondest memories are fishing with my family from the bank.

I don't know about y'alls definition of this professional thing.....LOL
I've seen several that get paid to crappie fish that ain't really good at it.......
Some of which push high end products that ain't worth the package said product is in.....
Just my opinion and my comments are not directed to anyone in particular......
Live Scope has made several in our crappie world claim to be professionals.......

Thanks Guys for all of your responses, a buddy of mine and I were talking about that topic, and I wondered how My Crappie.com Family would answerthis question.
I myself have been Crappie fishing since I was able to hold a fishing pole, shoot that was all My Father used to catch was Crappie. So now at the age of 50, I have no problem figuring the Spieces out.
Every fishing trip I average 60 to 100 fish to weave out the keepers from the non keepers and have no issues reaching my 25 fish limit of keepers. Yesterday May 4, 2021, I caught 30 crappirs at 13 inches and released them cause they were full of eggs, however I kept all of the Big Males.. (see photo)
No I don't get Paid and No I don't have $$$ pouring from My pockets, heck I fish from a 1975 restored 12 ft. Sea King, but what I can tell you is that even with fishing from My Oldie but Goodie, I can give the pros Heck. In all actuality, its all about Enjoying Youself, while Enjoying Nature as Your Catching Slabs... Thanks Again!Name: 20210505_111933.jpg
