Default Dern it. Boat motor no make go.

So my motor starts having issues. Wot and then bogs and dies. Half throttle and it’s fine. So I install a new fuel filter and now she don’t even keep running. Starts, runs for 100 yards and no fuel in the ball. Pump ball and go another 100 yards. Dang it. Must a be bad fuel filter so i replace it.

Still no go. Still way hard to keep the fuel pumper ball thing hard. So I start tearing things apart. I push compressed air into the fuel line to see if I hear bubbles coming up in the tank. I do for a second and then I don’t. I have wifey come out to verify. She shoots the air in the line and I can’t tell where the air is coming out.

So I finally open up the center console and remove batteries and remove the cover over the fuel tank.

    Look see

I lightly touch the fuel line and:

I figured I’d split up my post so it would not time out.

So the anti siphon valve completely disintegrated. Wow

And here’s the next lesson, I check Amazon and I can’t get the parts for a week. And it’ll be about $34.

I go to Nobles Marine nearby cause I’m not not gonna fish for a week. Low and behold their parts department is closed. But but I walk around and right near the register they got what I want. Really! I figured they were specialty parts but no. Cool

On top it all, and the point of the second post, the parts are only $21. Much better price than amazon. So do t assume amazon is always best price.

Not yet. Soaking Pb blaster on it so I can remove it easy. Do not want to strip it out of the nylon tank. That would be bad.

On screwing fitting into tank, use a couple of wraps of Teflon tape on fitting, screw in hand tight then one turn after that. Don’t want to over tighten because you could split threads in tank. And when done spray some simple green around in there and use scrub brush to clean up that mess

    Well Boss, you ain't alone.

Tues I had the oil sensor go out, a buddy had his motor quit on him 3 times that day, and another FB buddy had the starter on his boat go out (all at the same lake) Oddly enough, my sensor & my FB buddy's starter died in the same area of the lake ... right outside the no wake buoys of the marina.

Got my oil tank replaced, my buddy just went and bought a new boat, and the FB buddy got a new starter installed ... so we're all back in business. Hope you get yours squared away & back in the hunt .... luck2ya !!
