    Default Goldfish vs Minnows

Ive read multiple articles and posts arguing which is better for crappie. I’m still torn at what is better. What do you find is better from your experience goldfish or the old reliable minnow ?
Goldfish are legal in my state.

    Thank you

I don't use goldfish, because if they don't get eaten they grow up to be big goldfish. But thats just me. Personally if I don't use a jig, I will take a cast net and ketch shad. Then get the grease hot..

I’ve used goldfish for crappie in muddy water. Works pretty good. Bait shops around here carry them seasonally. Usually for catfish.

some pet stores sell feeder goldfish for snakes an pets like that. They're usually smaller than regular goldfish and cheaper. Also SOME bait shops carry what's called Rosy Reds they look like goldfish.

All I can tell you on finding them is to call around to all the bait shops you know of and ask .

I don't use minnows or goldfish but know crappie will eat big goldfish. Some guy was catfishing using goldfish about six inches long at a pay lake and caught a giant crappie easily over 3lbs and that's why orange is used in a lot of my hand ties with success.
