Default WEIRD DAY FRIDAY OR SHOULD SAY BITE.

I got on the water about 7:45 on Friday and took my time setting up. Figured I would be busy catching a cooler full of sandwiches so I had everything ready. The lake is definitely someplace to have your net because of the quality of fish.
Water was stained to muddy and I saw lots of people casting the banks on my way to the area I wanted to fish.
Water temp was 53-54 so I decided to concentrate on deeper fish.
Don’t really like to cast and wind much anymore.
First fish I dropped on appeared to be over 2 lbs and it bit fast.
2.70 in the box. Next fish same thing.
    Another 2.70 in the box.
After that it was a slow day. Dropped on several what appeared quality fish and they just weren’t interested.
Finally caught a 3rd fish and it was a 1.98.
Dead Sea from that point on.
Last fish was caught at about 10:30-11:00 am and then a boat ride dropping on several more with them having zero interest.
I might add that I was fishing around 18-20 deep in 20-24 ft of water.
Released them all in grandsons pond on the way home so he can catch them when I’m gone.
That’s a total of 25 in the 2 pound range over the last 2 years that he can have fun catching.
Gonna get after them again tomorrow.
    Chuck

At least the fish you did catch were big un’s. They got lucky escaping the knife, oil, & can give someone else some fun.

I usually don’t knife anything over 1 1/2 pound. Release them.
