I rode bulls for for 10 years on two different pro circuits. I first started when I was 19yrs old , now 49 yrs old. I lived close to Champaign Il. Heard the university of Illinois had a rodeo club and I joined to learn how to ride. I always wore a Bo-Jac seed corn hat. One of the guys called me that and it stuck. For years that’s all anyone has called me. My name is Jason , but some people have no idea who that is. They just think Bo-Jac is my name. Enjoy reading these stories. Name: IMG_0535.jpg

I live in East Tennessee and I love to fish. In other words, very little thought involved!

Clear Creek is the small stream that I see when I look out my kitchen window. On one of the first forums that I chose to participate in I did not put a space between "Clear" and "Creek" so that is how my forum name was established.

Growing up everyone around us called them speckled perch and the big ones where slabs. So, being creative I came up with SpeckledSlab when I signed up, without really taking note of existing members names.

I have used ezgoing for years. When I was younger I was very laid back and didn't allow much to get to me. I tried to see the humor in everything. But as I have grown older I have become less tolerant of stupidity, fools and idiots. Either that or the number of fools and idiots showing stupidity have increased over the years as I aged.

Slab is a slab, is me! Used to have a different name. Anyone remember it?

Anyway. Ship, you never told them what the 41 was for. I know exactly what it means, and it’s has to do with a loving wife.

Micanopy ( pron- Mick-A-No-Pee ) is a quaint little village just South of Gainesville, FL. Voted by the Huffington Puffington Post as one of the top ten most quaint little villages in all of America. It was the hot bed of the vast pineapple growing region that was flourishing here prior to a great freeze that sent the industry to Hawaii, where it has remained ever since. Citrus was also very popular in the area until that freeze. One little nearby town that was built on the citrus industry became a ghost town because of that big freeze- Windsor. That town is now known for zucchini.

Now days the town is filled with old hippies and witches and antique shops and such. To the North lies Newnans Lake, whose waters flow through the River Styx, flowing past MICANOPY into Orange Lake, which then moves the water into Lake Lochloosa. The area is a wintering grounds for sandhill cranes and many other birds that only visit for the cooler months. The lakes are large vegetable bowls that are very shallow, with mats of hydrilla. These lakes are very popular for fishermen, with lots of trophy bass being taken each year. Newnans Lake has just recently gotten 20,000 large mouth bass fry introduced by the Game Commission.

The area is very swampy with dry hammocks strewn throughout. I live on one of the small hills that rise above the swamps, and have dozens of grand daddy live oak trees. I spray for skeeters because if I did not they wouldn’t bite us so much as fly away with us for eating later.

Marjorie Kennan Rawlings who was made famous for her books, which The Yearling was the most well known moved here. The book was a story of the life of a young boy and his deer companion. She also authored Cross Creek which was a story about the lives of the local peoples she discovered upon moving to the area. Cross Creek actually is a creek that runs between lakes Orange and Lochloosa and takes the water Orange has to spare.

Living here I chose this unusual name for my screen name. It is Seminole Indian speak for- Big Chief. There were soldiers in the area during the Seminole Indian Wars, and they built forts around the region. Many do not realize that some of the Seminole Indians were actually escaped negro slaves and criminals hiding from law enforcement officials. They found a friend in the Seminole, who were the only Indians to never surrender to the Union. They fought to a stand off basically and nobody really felt the swamps were worth more effort.

Maybe they will bite this one……
