    Lightbulb The Fat Girls...

... are still doing it here. But I'm beginning to think its mostly at night. The only fish I caught shallow were bass, and the one I cleaned, yes I said it, was of the egg laying variety.

Of the ten crappie I kept, 9 female and 1 male, no tuxedo, and all in deep water. One female had completely spawned out, and the others were in various stages of distribution.

Kinda tells me, they don't all go at the same time, or get it done in one trip.

Hope maybe it will help someone on their lake. Something else I noticed, maybe because of the Rona, some folks are down right inconsiderate.

Kinda of makes me ready for the summer thang...

Anyway, color of choice, and they were hangry!

We catch a few males in full tuxedo around 5-9 on the rocks. Last night we caught one weighing 1.35 lbs and 1.54 lbs, but most were undersized. I have been fishing up to 10 pm so if it is happening in a late night run it is a very late night run.

Good you could get out. Sounds like you ran into some bozos, but that can’t be helped even in good times.

With all the cranes I've been seeing I think they've trained most of the crappie to spawn at night.....
I usually always fish deep even during the spawn but this year the deep bite is right at none existent in the area I'm fishing.....
Gotta make those changes to stay on active fish.....

I get a report its ON FIRE !
Send in the troops and hear NOT A PECK !
    such is the spawn .
I stumbled up on them in a few spots myself and on my returns they are gone !
But for the most part it has been tough to find them tight to the shore in numbers .
the good news is the jet skis and wake boats are now out and the water is getting warmer as I type
along with some of them attitudes it seems as well .
nice bowl of fillets my friend ...

Good news??? Like having a severe tooth ache is good news because you can stay at home from work that day, maybe?? Naw, I rather have a toothache than put up with wake boats and jet skis when I'm trying to fish. I can do something about the toothache, it's illegal to shoot the jet skiers and wake board operators.
