Default The NEW spot is .....

One that I wished I could have hit a few years ago when I was given a tip on it by a local about it . I was blessed last year when my local vehicle mechanic said hey I thought about you the other day . He then goes on to tell me he is in negotiations to buy the once long ago triton boat manufacturing facility on a local lake I like to hit .
I was like no way Jose , tell me pretty please I have an invite if you close the deal . He was like of course you do !
Long story short I hit it for my second visit yesterday with a LARGE bag of fillets for him and his family to have for dinner . I was surprised to see a guy standing on the dock when i got there crappie jigging . Seems his "metal scrapper" guy has been fishing it for around 40 years !
Said fella was nice and we chatted and he said not today , but they were real good yesterday .....
I thought oh well , no worries and dropped my jig ...... K A B O O M and it about jerked my Allstar 5 footer right out of my hand and it became serious right quickly ! Said crappie fish was large and once subdued I said to that fella "you keeping fish " ?
He showed me a large strange looking suspended container I though was some sort of fish feeder and said put them right in here . Told me the day before he caught a bunch and let them free and thought he would come back and keep some this trip.
Well I said at least we are off to a great start on keeping some as I pitched said 14 incher in the device .
Dropped said jig back in the water and it settled and ...K A B O O M ! Yet another nice slab tried to take my rod out of my hand ! EVERY drop in EVERY spot on that dock was the same thing ,drop jig and be prepared for a ball pin on your rod tip kinda bite !
The bucket device filled quickly as I slung slabs and to be sure it couldn't get any better than as fast as you get your jig back in the water .
The other fella struggled though and I tried in vain to get him on them , but it just wasn't his day I suppose ?
He managed a few and took every spot over I hammered a fish at when I went to the bucket
No worries because EVERY spot was good and I was in that groove we all wish for . It was a line snapping, fish slapping festival of festivals and to be sure the wind was JUST howling and the story gets complex as it goes .
I stood and watched in horror as a boat owner tried to launch his craft from one of the slips and about sunk it twice ramming it into the dock !
The howling wind kept turning his boat and every time he tried to power away from the dock it rammed him into it ! Sure did some serious damage to it , the good news is the holes were above the water line on both solid hits . Them big heavy inboard motor boats really have a solid strike when they hit something .
Anyway after a bit the fish settled back some in that area and I simply distanced myself from there knowing those in that area were freaked out for sure ! I never actually slowed down slinging fish and in the end managed one that most assuredly exceeded the lake record on that lake as well ! Wished we had a scale but the golden rule said a hair over 16 inches and she was rather exceptional for this neck of the woods .
So many large fish so fast is what fish stories are made of for sure . I left the bucket with a limit in it after about an hour and tossed about as many back . One catfish and a warmouth were the surprise guests . then there was this rather frisky keeper black crappie that tossed itself up on the dock in the fight and spit out my jig and looked me SQUARE in the eye as I reached down smiling and said this " I don't think so " as it flipped itself back into the water !
What a wind blown dock rocking adventure it was yawl ,said fella departed and said he would be back to clean his fish later , asked if I could come back with him and I mentioned probably not as I mostly roam during my lunch breaks in that neck of the woods , not long after his departure I hit the trail and left them biting and that there is the lunch break of lunch breaks for SURE !
do you know what time it is btw ?
KABOOM time my friends for sure
p.s. the particulars as as follows , used only 2 jigs one, plastic and one hand tie , both were pretty when they hit the water with lovely painted heads and even three d eyes on the plastic version , both looked like a truck ran them over when it was over with !
6 foot deep in 7 foot of water in the shade . a REALLY slow drag along NO jigging or twitching allowed !

Looks to me like he is trying to decide whether to try for the bano or go ahead and jump in.
