Most of the time I use a 3/4 oz weight with a 1/16 jig....in higher wind than normal situations I use a 1 oz weight and a 1/8 jig
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

I always use a 1/2 oz sinker. On some rods I'll use a hook for minnows and a 1/16 oz jig head. I have used 2 jig heads and a 3/8 oz sinker but got tired of keeping the different size sinkers separate. No real difference in how the rods lean down just my preference

1/2 with one 1/8 oz. sickle hook jig and one plain hook or gnat . We are allowed 4 poles so jig is on top on two of poles and gnat /plain hook top of the other two .

I use 1/2 oz sinker and tru turn hooks. More weight would probably be better in my case. Wind catches my boat like crazy.
But I run 8 poles, 16 hooks. I lose a fair amount of tackle.
