Default Fishing Crappies with Sinking Wobbling Pencil Bait early spring

First Kayak fishing trip of the year was tough. Cold front big time, the day before was 80 degrees in March (i am in NJ) with wind gusts up to 45mph! But yeah.... as a NEW Dad... i ended up being a weekend warrior.

Any how, I was playing with a lure called the Shimmy Minnow from Bait Finesse Empire. This is normally my trout go to lure, but seems like the crappies love it as it makes a slow wobble as it falls!

Here's the video to my first trip, hoping more to come this season.. whenever daddy gets a weekend out!

Nice, and I like the single hook - a nice clean catch! What did you dress the hook with? Looks neat.

thx bob, this lure comes with the single style assist hook and a treble hook that is spare. I won't be using the trebles as I prefer singles when possible. it's a spade hook with no eyes and people use fishing Kevlar at specific diameters based on hook choices.

Congrats on new baby! Yup go fishing when you can, babies take a lot of time. I’m sure you will be a great dad. Start saving for another kayak....lol.

What a fun lure. Should be a blast to fish. Thanks for sharing.
