    Default 406 sunburn.

Today I passed 400 crappie for the year. No fish were harmed. I lost two green carp today, one was about 5lb,and the other much bigger! They did not break my line, both came off after good battles. One of these pictures is going to give away one of my secrets for dealing with crappie on beds that won't bite. I am happy to have this number towards my goal of 1000.Name: 20210401_082830.jpg

The main reason for the mask is that the sun has been burning my face hard after two weeks of trying to pad the numbers!

I gave this sunburn stuff some thought. Bought a full face visor that is supposed to block UV rays. If it works out for me I will share. I don’t like the scarfs. The amount of UV reflecting off the water is incredible.
Maybe they will bite this one……

Yes, the sun has been intense, and it sure does reflect back, the big hat doesn't give enough protection.

I hear ya Roger, loud and clear! It doesn’t matter what area you live in, we who love the out of doors have to make sure to lube up, even early in the season. Don’t take a chance.

Didn’t think anything about it growing up. Got a spot on my ear that will need to be removed. Hand, arms and head neck area stays covered up now.

That’s the truth. I am kinda dark skinned to begin with, and as a kid by the end of the summer I was toasted. Never gave it a thought. These days are another whole matter. Same with sunglasses. I at least took action on that a lot of years ago and so far so good.

Those slabs bring back some great memories of my half dozen trips out to Southern Cali. the past decade. Don't think I ever caught one under 12" out there. Sun is definitely more intense there than here in Missouri. Used a big straw hat when I was out there plus the mask. Usually we were off the water before noon.

The visor thingie arrived today. I was able to adjust it to suit me and it looks like it is going to work. I will post up after a day fishing with it and offer an opinion. My wife said she wants a shield because we would look so cool. You might could look cool, too.
Maybe they will bite this one……
