I've had more days like that this year that I want to remember. Makes the memory of last year even more rememberable. Or is it that I just remember the good days of last year while forgetting the bad days.

Most likely that’s it. More healthy for the mind as well.

THIS MORNING i was headed out from shore when I noticed my feet were getting wet. Hmmmmm I said- why is there water in the boat. Then it dawned on me......it was dark when I put the plug in the boat. Sure enough the plug was in the live well drain hole. Then my buddy started showing off with double after double while I had nothing. Then when he left I finally managed one fish. Even with all that it was still alot better than going to w0rk.
Maybe they will bite this one……

I have a bakery set me up with a pie every time I’ve been fishing the past week. Catching a few fish but nothing like I have in years past. Oh well storms blowing thru this evening and boat in shop tomorrow. Guess that means I can spend a little more time her.

That's it right there. And how many times have you figured them out because you kept at it and changed presentations, baits, location, etc.? A fisherman's confidence in his abilities will allow him to keep after them even when nothing is biting. Sometimes he hits on a winning combination and sometimes he doesn't. But confidence and determination is what often makes the difference on tough days, even when you know the deck is stacked against you.

And by goodness they may beat you, but it won't be for giving up!

Seriously, the reason I fish is not the number of fish I catch, it is for the fun of fishing. Even skunk days are more fun than not fishing that day.

I have had many days like these. The important thing is your confidence was not shaken and you kept on fishing. At the very least you were blessed to get out of bed, clothe yourself, feed yourself and go enjoy your fishing passion. That makes you a winner in my eyes.
