    Default micro jig questions

I'm looking to get a good assortment of micro jigs. I was looking at the Crappie Magnet pack and also various hand tied jigs, but there's a lot to choose from and I am not familiar with micro jigs. Can anyone give me some guidance on which may give me most bang for the buck? Also some suggestions on how best to fish them?Thank You!!

Hard to go wrong with Trout Magnets, fished with a slow retrieve.

Trout magnets, crappie magnets, small beetle spins all work. So do fur and feather jigs. A marabou and chenille jig is deadly.

I’ve had excellent success with Bobby Garland Itty Bits jig heads.
I hand tie my own with these heads .

Do trout magnets with size 14 hook work well with Crappie?

Are you just using a bare hook? Hook plus bead head?

That can work but you won’t have much of the hook in the fish. I mostly use a #8 or #6 jig head with the trout magnet.

Even Bass Pro’s really small marabou jigs have at least a #12 or #10.

All of the above work really well. I love the Trout Magnets, and I think like DB4D said size 8 or 6 will work well.

I use a #8 hook for my BG & red ears, a #4 or 6 for crappie. I make my own micro spinning baits. My favorite color is black or black gold tails. I love crappie magnets.
