Default Newer Minn Kota spot lok vs MG Xi5 spotlok questions

I have the MG Xi5 and the spot lok on it is very accurate within 3ft Id say, how do the Ulterras compare in accuracy with their spot lock on newer models to the Xi5.. Also do they have the bugs worked out of the new Mega Imaging ones that seemed to plague the older models, are they reliable now. I have had zero issues with m Xi5 in 3 yrs of using it.
Seriously thinking about getting the Ulterra due to fact no one can fish when I want to and wanT to launch 18ft pontoon by myself and not have to wrestle it around.
Guys who have the new Mega imaging Ulterras how do you like them?

Whether you get the Ulterra with the Mega transducer or universal sonar the TM functions are the same. I have the latest gen Ultera with universal sonar.....I had the old model Ulterra also. I have had no issues with the newer version...I have owned it for almost 3 years....and it gets used a ton. I am going to give you some facts about all of these GPS trolling motors....no matter the brand. For each person who sings the praises of brand X or brand Y you'll find someone who has had major issues. I know folks who have had issues with their Xi5 and Ulterra from the day they got it..and can't get them working right. I know a ton of folks who loved their 1st gen Ulterra yet my first one was a pain in the rear. If my Ulterra quit today I would go buy another one. It is safe to say the new Ulterras are on whole far more reliable than the 1st model they came out with.

It's that way with a ton of gear. There are shortages of everything from computer chips to fishing hooks and everything in between.

Yes I have. Started with Brian at BBG. Welcome to the law of supply and demand. He had the transducer I needed, but no motor. No idea when they will be available again. As Alphahawk said, there are shortages everywhere.

We're hoping that HelmCommander will help ease the pain of the shortages.
