Believe it or not, I am having the same problems with my 2008 Tracker I just bought! LOL!!! I did narrow mine down this morning to the pickup hose in the tank! I used the hose ( yes I put all new hoses on ) coming from the tank port and just put it in a regular 2 gallon can. Engine ran fine for about 30 mins til I shut it off! So I have to figure out how to get that pickup line out because there is something on the end of it down inside!

How can you see down in there? I'm not looking at mine but I don't recall a way I can see into the tank. Just curious. I don't think this is my problem because I tried doing what you did, using a regular gas can, and it really didn't make any difference. Mine seems to be either the fuel line or the motor. I ran it again yesterday on the lake. Only way to keep it running is to start it with higher rpms in neutral, then put it in neutral and then into gear before it dies. Every once in awhile, I get it to take off and boogie before it dies. Once it's moving at speed, it runs normally, runs like a top. Now, when you let off the gas suddenly, it will die, it won't reduce to idle. Maybe only if you very, very slowly reduce the rpms.

Might help if you ask this question In the mechanics section also. If it's mine I replace all the fuel lines and inline filter and use the old bulb. Run it . Also consider having someone squeeze the bulb and or try giving it a little choke. If still trouble I replace bulb either oem or handmade. If problem still exists I start looking at Idle side of carbs.

That is probably the anti syphon valve. And they do go bad since its just a check valve.

My fuel line issues are few but when I do suspect one, I replace everything from the motor to the tank. Ethanol does a job on them and I had chunks in my fuel filter on one motor. The pickup system I believe is modular and can also be replaced. O rings on old fittings should be replaced periodically as the ethanol may affect those also. I use automotive fuel line that’s rated for ethanol and had no issues in the ten years I owned my last boat. Bulbs are weird. I think everyone has had a bad turn with most every brand so buy what you think is best and keep an eye on it. My Mariner I deleted the long, old style connector and went from tank to filter to motor and lost an air leak problem in the process. Built in tank and 150 hp motor, I saw no need for fuel disconnect. Never had a water in the fuel issue so I never ran a seperator. If the motor has to be revved up to stay running, I would suspect a fuel pump diaphragm beginning to go. I have to put one in my ‘74 Evinrude 15hp for just this reason. At low rpm, like around shifting level, if left there too long it runs out of fuel. Has done this a couple of times and the motor is new to me so I will install one and put any potential problems behind me. Hope you get it figured out, please keep us posted as we all learn something along the way.
