Terribly big fish from Minnesota, doubt if it gets broken. Notice the year he caught it.....

Don’t believe the record from Louisiana going to be bested.
6lbs??? WOW...... Is that not a works record???
I can't even imagine what a 5lb crappie would look like.......
Thanks for the post. Now I know how big the fish that I will never catch should be!

Surprised MS is only 4-4. I thought they were ground zero for big crappie. And surprised FL is only 3-13, but GA is 5 lb.
A lot of northern and western states with surprisingly big fish. I guess good crappie fishing can be found all over really. There is a lot of parity in that list.
Is that list for white or black crappie?

I believe it's either or both, depending on how the state views the species. KY, for instance, doesn't distinguish between the two for status, creel rules, or records ... and our State Record Crappie is a Hybrid Crappie. It was submitted as a World Record Black Crappie at the time it was caught, but was denied after testing showed it to be a naturally occurring hybrid cross.
