    Default Help with slip bobber

I like to use a slip bobber when fishing plastics. A common problem I have is the eye of the lure and the loop knot causes it to hang up or stuck in bottom hole of slip bobber. How do you guys remedy this...bead?

My thought is a bigger knot or a small clear bead. I have the same issue. Especially when the bottom of the tube cracks just a little. I try not to reel up too close to the float. I also thought that a couple of wraps of thread and a spot of epoxy would prevent the cracking I spoke of. Fun way to fish when it’s working.

Buy the cheap 3 pack of slip corks from Walmart. The top of that tube has a yellow cone shaped tip insert. Pluck them from the tube and insert in bottom. You will now have the insert in both ends. Jig eye will not enter.

    I have questions.
What size of a jig and normally how deep are u fishing?
Just a simple fix I'd say would be to add a small split shot up above the jig a foot or two.

I use a bead and another bobber stop. Just in case I want to push it up tight and fish it fixed float style.

I also use small plastic beads But you could get small split shot and use them. My floats are round cork and I tie a leader on using a swivel with an end that won't go inside the cork Plastic bead between the cork and the bobber stop.

I tie up 1 foot leaders with a jig and put a loop on the end. Underneath my slip float is a small snap. I just clip whatever leader/jig I want onto the snap.

This works very well for me as well using a small plastic bead and then the fast snap and easy to change baits out quickly. I found when I used a split shot above the jig/hook at any distance and cast, the hook/jig would occasionally come up and hook over the main line above my slip float.
