Some time ago I questioned why an inquiry about a particular type of fishing was posted as a poll??? I came off as being snide to some and didn’t mean it that way. Ask your question and you will get what you are asking about. I answered the OP and told him about what he wanted to know. I tell my clients the only dumb question on my boat is one they didn’t ask.

Well said Mr Dux, unfortunately everything has turned to money, and people don"t have time to mess with the elderly or the young, technology has moved passed so many of us that can"t afford the technology, this site is a good place to go for questions and answers keep it up, you have my respect

I've only been fishing about 2 yrs and there is a ton of stuff I just don't know but often find myself afraid to ask because it appears there are so many people on social media that are confrontational. Those guys on Facebook or social media that have smart aleck replies don't have to worry about getting punched in the mouth.

Again, I'm learning and the past 2 yrs have been a journey buying my own rod/reels, and my first boat 175 Bass Tracker TXW. Cleaned my first crappie 5 months ago and I had to ask someone "how do I clean a fish"! lol. I appreciate this website.

Hunting and fishing forums are essentially my social media. No pro here, but I would help anyone out and take you fishing. In addition to this forum, I enjoy reading this other forum...primarily a bass fishing forum. They have weekly tournaments, which is great. But what really gets me....it is VERY RARE that anyone will tell you what lure(s) worked. Are they afraid someone else will catch a fish. I don't want your waypoints. Anyway...

I have a few pages on Fakebook myself , but much like here ,there is a zero tolerance for ugly comments on mine .
crappie are often times difficult fish to ketch and even more so for beginners , the one thing that really chaps me is some of the " young professional crappie folks " that have a total disrespect for other crappie anglers .
one in particular joined a bunch of less than what they think they are crappie wanna be folks in calling me names on a well known page on fakebook .
And he is by no means the first one on that list , one who travels and EVEN gives seminars on crappie fishing is the same EXACT kind of you know what and used to do the same thing on another forum !
this type of behavior is why I created my own pages on fakebook .
it isnt only the beginners getting disrespected out there for sure .
this type of thing along with a general disrespect for others in this world makes it a rough path to travel some days .
helping others ketch fish is what is high on my list of things to do and even more so if they want to put forth effort to ketch them .
now mind you this , I am NOT in it for money or sponsors and or fame or glory , its just what makes my heart happy ....
ask me anything about ketchn crappie and i will do my best to give you a straight answer .but .....
of course when my bud asked the other day on fakebook what lake ,,,,I went with the american native name on that particular lake ....
    its lake "gofindyourownspot "
and yes as always in the end and forever and ever ....

A site’s reputation can be easily drawn, after even a cursory examination of what is considered tolerable. Everything social needs moderation. That process is what drives the entire system. Visit a needlepoint forum and take a look at what the ladies do. Man you want to talk about ugly.....man they are rough. Nasty.

If you see someone asking, and you are far far too bored to offer them some help, just click away. No need to jab at them. Just move along and someone else will likely come by that isn’t anywhere near as bored.

Mr Dux- I am afraid that quitting those boards as you did will only serve to make them worse. Likely you aren’t the only one leaving.
Maybe they will bite this one……

I'm not sure if I'm a better fisherman because of this site but I do know that I'm a better man. Thanks Slab for the site and thanks to Super "G" for all he does and prayers go up for a full and speedy recovery.

I have crappie fished my whole life and due to work schedule normally by myself. I’m retired now and after joining this site, I realize how inefficient and ineffective my fishing efforts were. I’ve learned a lot here and have always been treated with respect. I hope as I apply the techniques I’ve have been shown here, one day soon I’ll be able to show others these techniques

This is a good thread - thanks MRD for getting it started. I have learned years worth of tips for a fraction of the time!
