I have a duo-lock snap on the end of my main line, to attach the trolling weight to, and another one on the other end of the trolling weight to attach the loop knot of the leader line.
Oddly enough, when snagged and the leader line breaks, it normally either breaks at the loop knot or within a few inches of it. I've yet to have the line break at the Improved Clinch knot on the jig. (leader line is 6# test mono)
Could you or someone else explain the difference between the two and the set up.

Basically the difference between Spider Rigging & Pushing is speed (& amount of weight used). When I'm Pushing jigs, I have a 1oz trolling weight on & I go around 1mph ... when Spider Rigging, most people I know have 1/2oz-3/4oz weights on & go less than 0.5mph ... and live bait is often used when Spider Rigging, but not when Pushing.

My setup is two Hi-Tek rod holders ... two 14ft rods in each / two rods on each side of the bow ... line counter reels with 30lb braid or 20lb mono ... a duo-lock clip on the tag end of the main line, then a weight attached to the clip, a duo-lock clip on the other end of the weight, then my leader line's loop knot attached to that clip and my jig tied on the end of the leader. I have a couple of sections of Pool Noodles with pre-made leader lines & jig heads so I can change out leaders when necessary. My leader lines are 6lb test mono & around 18inches long. When I'm fairly familiar with the areas I'm Pushing in, I have been known to add a rod or two to the mix ... usually shorter rods (7-10ft rods).

That's just how I do it .... others may have a different setup.

Spider rig out of the front of the boat, usually with more weight and a more straight down line angle. Long line trolling out of the back of the boat
