    Default Crappie Rod boat racks

Looking for some suggestions on some rod racks to go in my boat to hold 6-8 long crappie jig poles. I saw Milennium and Cornfield Crappie both have one but open to other options. Also any feed back on which ones work best

I’m using the Driftmaster 2160 offset double tip savers with no issue transporting 8-10 ft rods. I may need to get an extra section for additional support for 6-7 ft rods. If anyone has an extra double offset section they’d like to get rid of, feel free to PM me. ThanksName: IMG_0195.jpg

I bought the Driftmaster ones to save money, however after using them and then later buying extras for added support the cost savings became negligible.

If I had to do it over again, I would have bought the Millennium from the start.

For 6-8 foot rods the Cornfield Crappie holders would be your best bet. I designed the prototypes for these so I could put my 7 foot crankbait rods onto my bay boat that had very little gunnel space. I use them and the Millennium Marine on my boat but the Millennium are for my longer rods.

    Default Crappie Rod boat racks

Mellinium are the best by far.

I guess i'll go against the grain. I had the Millennium racks and didn't like how big, bulky and heavy they were. I have several Millennium products that have been great, but these just didn't do it for me.

I ended up buying the Driftmaster 2160-10 offset tipsaver rack and really like it. If I don't need it on the boat, I just unscrew it and they will fit pretty much anywhere.

I do think it would be pretty optimistic to think 8 rods with baitcasters could fit on this rack, but I'm just using it for the 13' rods that my wife and I use for Livescoping.

I will say this about any product you mount to your boat. It's almost always personal preference. Something that seems like a good idea, might end up being the thing you end up liking the least on the boat. I have a Xpress XP180 that I've had in several different configurations over the years and I've changed a bunch of stuff. You might get the driftmasters and wish you had bought the Millenium rack.

I have had both on my 16' polarkraft. Its very much like a Bass Tracker. The Driftmasters worked but I remove my console sonar. The rods were in the way to get to the sonar, walking around the boat I would walk into the rods. I am pushing with 16' rods. I then bought a set of the millennium rod holders. I really like the way you can move them up or down when needed. They fold out of the way, I'll have to add a third one in the middle for shorter rods. Both have there draw backs, and positive attributes. Millennium's are build solid, operate fantastic, and can be removed if needed. Also I noted with the Driftmasters they were very close to the water line, and prone to get very wet when on plane.

I have had the Driftmaster rack but really didn't care for it. I found it difficult to accommodate 8 rods. I switched to the Millennium rack and love it. I usually carry at least 8 rods that are either 14 or 16 ft long.

I use the driftmasters also but I made a bridge to keep the bow out and helps keep the lines from making a mess
