I use Mr Crappie 10# mostly but also their 6# for deeper fishing to get my 1/16 oz jig down. I never have had a problem. Are you using a spinning reel, first question. Second question, is the line roller in the bail frozen up throwing extra twist in the line. Just a statement here but I personally hate Suffix line, it gave me issues that I have not had with any other line. Feeding through the guides was one of them. I own 2 - 11 foot & 2 - 10 foot Tree Thumpers and absolutely love them and they are tee'd up quite frequently. I own one of each, new, that I carry out-of-town with me just in case I do something stupid and break one that is currently in service.

I really like my Tree Thumper and I don't notice getting line out as being a problem with it. I use 4 lb mono mostly.

I think I got it figured out.

there was something on the rod blank itself. Tacky like paint overspray. I put penn rod cleaner on it until I could move a paper towel without friction and the problem went away. Have no clue what it was but it covered the entire tip section of rod.

    thank you for yalls input.

Johnny, I fished the past two days and darned if mine doesn't kind of hang up like yours. I really hadn't noticed before. I'll give it a good cleaning and examination this afternoon. Thanks for that info. But I still REALLY like this rod for jigging.

I have noticed alot of stiction when I used to use 12' rods and I always threw 1/32 on 4lb. I wouldn't think ud have much trouble with a 1/16. Try dropping to 4lb. If not check your guides out really well

Try taking a Q-Tip and go around each eye looking for the smallest of burrs. Even the smallest of spots could cause a problem. Still sometimes it make take a little tip jiggle to get it slide down.
