I use a 9ft Southern Crappie rod for vertical jigging brush piles. Great rod. Great customer service too.

Southern Crappie had rods from 6 foot to 16 foot. All rods 10 foot and less have cork handles. His new Stump Jumper is an awesome Livescope rod. He has a dock shooting rod also. I’ve used his rods for years and have recommended them to tons of folks. All the feedback I get is positive and Ed Duke is the nicest guy in the fishing industry. Give him a call.

I love my Leland TCB for most of your specs.

I have been looking hard at the pro angler tackle rods. Some of their 6' stuff. And definitely their 16' troll rods.

I have to agree. The TSS/TCB would meet most of the specs. But I wouldn’t sling with it. It is a pretty tough rod, but not built for that.

Not to change the subject, but if I caught anything close to 3 lbs., I'm using my net to get it into the boat!

I've been looking at the Leland TCB myself. I know they are rated as "ultralight," but how whippy are they? I usually like a light action with a fast tip, but I know there is quite a bit of difference in what some manufacturers call ultralight, light and med-light.

I have alot of different crappie rods and have used a ACC crappie stick. It is a very light rod with alot of sensitivity. The rod weight and sensitivity comes at the cost of toughness. I certainly would not boat flipping a 3 pounder with it. Bonehead makes a great rod that is tougher than the ACC Crappie stick but it is not as light or sensitive. Gotta kinda of pick your poison.

I've boat flip all my crappie with my ACC's. lot of two lbs fish and a 3.3 crappie. I wouldn't own the ACC rods if they wouldn't flip any crappie I catch. Never broke one yet.

Sounds like great rods. Where on earth do you find 2-3# Crappie in Kansas???

Not whippy at all, in my opinion. Very similar to a nice JDM action at a MUCH lower cost. They are very sensitive for your money.
