Yes, soare ci4 500 but also have a new vanford 500, it is nice that shimano
makes the 500 4 oz model for the us market. The 1000 series reels are a bit
to big/heavy.

Tried out a couple of matagi rods on lake trout this summer and blanks held up well for open water fish 5-20 lbs. With the ultra tackle need sharp hooks which i started using fudo, sharpest I have found. Though blanks are only rated to 1/8 oz, handled vertical jigging with a 5/8 oz no problem. Used a soare and vanford 500 reels with these light blanks.
